It's a screening that moved me a lot.
Because eight days ago we learned that the main character of the film Charlbi Dean left us
, ”said Ruben Östlund in front of the thousand spectators present in the main hall of the festival, including the president of the jury Arnaud Desplechin.
“
She had a quality of attention for the teams, a sensitivity, she pulled everyone up.
We miss her and it is with great sadness that we will continue to promote the film in Toronto or at other festivals
,” he said.

A thunderous ascent
The South African actress died at the age of 32 in New York for a still unknown reason.

But I am convinced that Charlbi would like you to be happy during this screening and to watch the film with great enthusiasm: that is what she would have wanted
”, explained the Swedish director, visibly moved.
