(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 09 SEPT - The firefighters who for days have been fighting against the flames in California are preparing to intervene in the next few hours for spills and floods caused by an approaching storm.

    While the damages and the victims, at least two, of the Fiarview and the Mosquito Fires are counted, the tropical storm Kay, which arrived in Mexico on Thursday after a hurricane, is moving towards California and Arizona.

Meteorologists from the National Weather Service said up to 18 centimeters of rain could fall in the area around the Fairview fire, creating the risk of flash and eclectic flooding of mud in areas where the scorched ground cannot absorb the sudden downpour.
