Gas: Von der Leyen, working on responses suitable for the market

(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 10 - On the cost of gas, "we continue to work on solutions suitable for a global market".

The president of the EU Commission, Ursula von derLeyen, writes on Twitter the day after the extraordinary meeting of the energy ministers of the Twenty-seven, who gave a mandate to Brussels to develop new proposals to deal with expensive energy, including a price cap on gas imports in the EU.

    Countries are divided between those who, like Italy, would like a generalized roof, and those who are limited to Russian supplies.

"The aim is to ensure lower prices in Europe and at the same time security of supply", explains von der Leyen.
