Danger at the breakfast table: urgent recall – do not eat these muesli products under any circumstances

Several muesli products are affected by a recall.
Consuming it poses a serious health risk.
Kassel – For many, it is simply part of a healthy start to the day: muesli.
At the breakfast table, however, particular attention should be paid to what goes into the bowl.
The background is that Minderleinsmühle GmbH has published a current recall for five of its products.
The letter from the manufacturer states: "Salmonella was detected in a sample of sesame."

Muesli recalled: company warns of salmonella
The company points out that the affected foods should not be eaten under any circumstances.
These products are currently affected by the recall:
"Sesame unpeeled":
500 gram packs with the best before dates (MHD): 31.12.2022, 05.01.2023 and 09.03.2023.
"Dietary fiber muesli":
500 gram packs with the BBD: 05.03.2023 and 20.04.2023.
“Sportive Muesli / Vital Muesli”:
500 gram packs with the sell-by dates: February 6th, 2023, February 23rd, 2023, April 10th, 2023, July 22nd, 2023 and July 31st, 2023.
"Sportive Muesli":
1000 gram packs with the BBD: 03/16/2023 and 05/05/2023.
"Sportiv Muesli":
2000 gram packs with the BBD: 03/12/2023.

It is also possible to return the products at the respective point of sale without presenting the receipt, as Minderleinsmühle GmbH writes.
Affected customers will get their money back.

Only the above-mentioned products with the associated best-before dates are affected by a possible salmonella infection.
All other products can be consumed without hesitation, as the company reports.
What is salmonella?
Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause foodborne infection and often enters the human digestive tract through food.
They multiply in the gastrointestinal tract of humans and animals and cause diarrhea.
These foods are often contaminated with salmonella
The bacteria can multiply quickly on unrefrigerated food.
Raw and undercooked eggs and egg products such as mayonnaise or raw cake batter are easily infected with salmonella.
Ice cream, raw meat, raw minced meat and raw sausages such as ground pork and salami are also often affected.

Salmonella infection is often caused by eating contaminated food.
However, infection from person to person is also possible via a smear infection.
After infection, the disease breaks out within six to 72 hours.
Babies, small children, the elderly and people with a weakened immune system are particularly at risk.
