(ANSA) - MILAN, 11 SEPTEMBER - A 68-year-old retired man died after throwing himself from the sixth floor of the building where he lived in Gallarate (Varese) this morning.
Shortly before her he stabbed and nearly fatally wounded her 92-year-old mother.
The alarm was raised by the residents of via Pegoraro in Gallarate (Varese), who heard a thud and then discovered the corpse of 68-year-old Mario Ranza, retired, on the pavement.
The carabinieri immediately intervened, then entered his house, where they found the ninety-year-old with knife wounds on the body.
The elderly woman was then rushed to the Circolo di Varese hospital, where she is hospitalized in a reserved prognosis.
Investigations must now reconstruct what prompted the man to try to kill his mother and then take his own life.
