(ANSA) - ROME, 11 SEPT - Writer Javier Marias has died.
This is confirmed by the Spanish Minister of Culture Miquel Iceta.
He was 70 and would die from the consequences of pneumonia.
One of the greatest contemporary Spanish authors, he was born in Madrid on September 20, 1951. Graduated in philosophy, he achieved international success in 1992 with A heart so white, followed by works such as Domani nella guerra think ame, When I was mortal, The sentimental man, until most recently Tomas Nevinson.
Novels and short stories with which he won the greatest European literary prizes.
The latest in order of time, in June, the Gregor von Rezzori prize.
