Box office France: The Green Shutters and The Tasting hold up well to Anglo-Saxons

2022-09-12T11:27:08.309Z

The films of Jean Becker and Ivan Calbérac achieved fine attendance figures during their first weeks of release.

A film adapted from a noir novel by Georges Simenon, another drawn from a witty romantic comedy,

Les Volets Verts

by Jean Becker and

La Dégustation

by Ivan Calbérac (the own author of the adapted play) achieved fine figures of attendance after their theatrical release.

After two weeks of operation, the first named attracted 232,434 spectators, while the second seduced some 110,323 moviegoers from the first days of its appearance in French cinemas.

The impressive cast of these two cinematographic works certainly has something to do with it.

In

Les Volets Verts

Jean Becker has gathered around him Fanny Ardant, Benoît Poelvoorde, Anouk Grinberg (excellent!) and of course Gérard Depardieu in the role of this actor who sees his destiny escape him.

As for Ivan Calbérac, he masterfully directed two very popular actors: Isabelle Carré and Bernard Campan.

Of course, the American cinema with in particular

Everything Everywhere All at Once

with 132,121 spectators (1st position), and

Bullet Train

with 111,757 spectators monopolize the gold and silver medals of this week of cinematographic return.

But it is pleasant to note, because it is not common, that two French films compete with them.
