Lime clogs the fine nozzles of the shower head, which is why it should be cleaned and descaled regularly.
All you need are home remedies - and a freezer bag.
If limescale settles in the fine nozzles and seals of the shower head, less and less water gets out - or splashes back and forth in all directions.
This is not only annoying, but unnecessarily lengthens the morning shower.
Even the simplest household remedies are sufficient to clean the shower head and remove limescale.
If you don't want to or can't unscrew your shower head, it's best to use a freezer bag to descale the shower head.

Three home remedies are enough to clean the shower head
In order for your shower head to work properly again, the first thing to do is to prepare a descaling solution.
A home remedy that everyone probably has in the house is vinegar.
The acid it contains not only dissolves limescale, but also has an antibacterial and disinfecting effect.
To descale, use either pure vinegar or mix vinegar essence with water in a ratio of 1:5.
According to the fittings manufacturer
Villeroy and Boch
, citric acid is also suitable for descaling the shower head (1 teaspoon in 50 ml of cold water).
However, this is very aggressive and should therefore be tested first in a hidden spot.
The exposure time should be a maximum of 45 minutes - don't forget gloves!
Descaling with baking powder is a little gentler: Dissolve a packet of the raising agent in a glass of warm water.
You forget these spots all the time when cleaning

Descale the shower head without unscrewing it – a freezer bag makes it possible
A plastic tub is suitable for descaling the shower head, in which you put the unscrewed shower head together with the descaling solution (see above).
If you don't want to or can't unscrew the shower head from the bracket on the wall, you can use a freezer bag instead:
Fill a freezer bag with a descaling solution (see above).
Put the bag around the hand shower and close the bag with a rubber band or adhesive tape
Leave the descaling solution to work for about two hours.
After that, the nozzles and the shower head should be largely free of limescale.
Finally, rinse with clear water to remove vinegar & co. from the shower head - done!
You can then use the freezer bag as a garbage bag in the bathroom.
That's how much the daily shower costs us, by the way.
