A car parade from a wedding party blocked a motorway near Osnabrück in Lower Saxony, triggering a police operation.
As the officials announced, "ten vehicles, some of them highly motorized," were involved in the incident on the A30.
According to witness statements, three of them drove side by side with the hazard warning lights on, overtook each other on the right at up to 180 kilometers per hour and finally slowed down the following traffic.
Other drivers alerted the police, who said they stopped the motorcade at an exit after the participants ignored a red light.
The investigators said that the members of the wedding party had been “uncooperative and unreasonable” during the following measures.
They are now looking for other witnesses to what happened.
