A cheese manufacturer is recalling seven products, all of which were sold in numerous supermarkets across Germany.

Update from September 13, 11:59 a.m .:

Because of a possible danger from metal parts, Lactalis Deutschland GmbH is recalling other goat cheese products.

In the course of the investigation after an initial recall, the company based in Kehl (Ortenaukreis) was able to determine further best-before dates (MHD) for the food produced in France, which are now being recalled, the company said.

The products have been sold throughout Germany since the end of August, including at Lidl, Edeka and Aldi Süd.

Consumers should not eat the food, but dispose of it themselves or bring it back to the store.

The purchase price will be refunded.

The sale of the products has been stopped.

Affected by the recall are:

  • "Milbona soft goat cheese" (best before: October 1st, 2022, October 3rd, 2022, October 4th, 2022, October 5th, 2022, October 6th, 2022, October 9th, 2022, October 11th, 2022, October 15th, 2022).

  • "Chêne d'Argent Goat Cheese Roll" (best before: October 1st, 2022, October 3rd, 2022, October 4th, 2022, October 5th, 2022, October 6th, 2022, October 9th, 2022, October 11th, 2022, October 15th, 2022).

  • "Roi de Trèfle Saint Maure Goat Roll" (Best before: 22.09.22 to 06.10.2022).

  • "Good & cheap French soft goat cheese" (best before: until October 15th, 2022).

  • "Cabriolait French soft cheese made from pasteurized goat's milk" (Best before: 04.10.2022, 11.10.2022).

  • "Président Saint Maure soft cheese roll" (best before: 02.10.2022 to 19.10.2022).

  • "President Goat Cheese 1kg" (best before: 31.10.2022).

However, a manufacturer is now starting a major cheese recall, with seven varieties being recalled.

The items have been in circulation since the end of August, and numerous supermarkets throughout Germany are affected.

According to a press release, Lactalis Deutschland GmbH warns of metallic foreign bodies in seven goat's cheese products produced by Société Fromagère de Riblaire (France).

Metallic foreign bodies can cause injuries in the mouth or throat, for example.

In the worst case, if they are swallowed, they can lead to severe internal injuries and bleeding.

According to a statement on Saturday, the following products are affected by the recall:

The products all have different best-before dates and have been on the market throughout Germany since the end of August.

Lidl, Pierre Meyer, Edeka and Aldi Süd, among others, are affected by the recall.

The sale of the products has been stopped.

Consumers who have bought one of the products are asked not to consume it and to dispose of the food themselves or to bring it back to the store.

The purchase price will be refunded, even without a receipt.

An unwanted ingredient in the product is also to blame for the recent food wholesaler recall.

Numerous federal states are affected by the pasta recall.
