A video excerpt from a police operation in Berlin-Alt-Hohenschönhausen is circulating on social networks.
Two Berlin police officers are in the apartment of a Syrian family and violently bring the man to the ground.
Children are present and screaming - the atmosphere is heated.
When the woman who is filming what is happening shouts that this is her apartment, one of the police officers replies: "This is my country and you are a guest here." The "Tagesspiegel" reported first.
Shortly afterwards he says to her: »Shut up, don't touch me again.
(...) I'll take you to jail.« In the excerpt that can be seen in the video, the policeman addresses both the man (30) and the woman (28) on a first-name basis.
The "Central Investigation Group" of the police state protection of the State Criminal Police Office is investigating the police officer for xenophobic insults, the Berlin police said on Twitter.
»We stand against any form of discriminatory and inhuman behavior.
The colleague is under criminal investigation.
He was immediately transferred to the office.
Further legal consequences will follow.«
According to the Berlin police, the two officers went to the family's apartment because of a so-called threat speech.
The woman should be warned.
There was an arrest warrant against her husband for fraudulently obtaining benefits, which was to be enforced.
According to information from the "Tagesspiegel" he is said to have used local public transport three times without a ticket.
He received a fine for this, which he did not pay.
The incident happened last Friday.
Left-wing MP Ferat Koçak published excerpts of it on social media on Tuesday.
