Presenter Joko Winterscheidt (43) once again won the German Television Award with his ProSieben program "Who steals the show from me?"
The format had already been recognized as the best entertainment show last year.
"I never would have thought that it was really realistic," said the somewhat bewildered Winterscheidt about the successful defense of the title.
In "Who's stealing the show?" the show host has to defend his job against several candidates.
Depending on the outcome, the moderation changes at the next issue.
Winterscheidt invented the format.
It has already won several awards.
Presenter and musician Giovanni Zarrella, who presents "The Giovanni Zarrella Show" on ZDF, was honored on Wednesday evening for the best individual performance as an entertainment presenter.
Prizes in a total of 30 categories
In the »Best TV Film« category, ZDF won the prize with »The Wannsee Conference«.
»Faking Hitler« (RTL+) about the fake Hitler diaries was awarded as the best drama series.
The streaming service Netflix was delighted with the trophy for the best mini-series: It won »The Billion Dollar Code«.
Best Comedy/Late Night is »LOL – Last One Laughing«.
SPIEGEL editor Markus Feldenkirchen received the award for best infotainment for the WDR format »Konfrontation«, where he met Robert Habeck and Karl Lauterbach.
Altogether there are prizes in 30 categories for television professionals in Germany.
Among the journalists, the ZDF reporter Katrin Eigendorf was honored for her reporting from Ukraine.
Eigendorf dedicated it to all reporters who work in Ukraine - "everyone who does this job here".
Friederike Becht (»Faster than Fear«, ARD) was able to assert itself among the actresses, and Moritz Bleibtreu (»Faking Hitler«, RTL+) among the actors.
Actress Iris Berben ("Old Country") received the honorary award.
The German Television Prize has been awarded for outstanding television performances since 1999.
It is carried by ZDF, Sat.1, ARD, Deutsche Telekom and RTL.
ZDF was in charge in 2022.
This time, the award ceremony was divided into two consecutive gala evenings.
