The functions introduced by Instagram last June to help parents and educators to supervise the social experience of the youngest are also arriving in Italy.
These include the ability to see how much time teenagers spend on Instagram and set daily limits;
schedule breaks at specific times of the day;
see which profiles they follow and who they are followed by;
receive notifications when children decide to report an account or post, including who was reported and the type of content.
"Last June we published more details on the reference framework we use to develop features for the youngest - writes Meta, a company to which Instagram is part - we provide more details about the ways in which we apply the principles contained in the Convention of Nations United on children's rights in the development process of their products. This regulatory framework guides all Meta teams in applying well-defined standards aimed at developing digital experiences for children under 18 ".
With the novelty, the new Center for Families also arrives in Italy, which contains a series of resources from experts to help parents and adolescent children to live the digital world in safety.
Meta then says it is "globally testing the new Discover Different Topics feature, which will encourage teens to switch to a different topic if they repeatedly watch the same type of content on Explore. And that it launched earlier this year. the 'Take a break' function: "now - adds Meta - we will also send teenagers a notification to suggest activating this function after they spend some time scrolling content on Instagram".
