New strike in the air sector this Friday.
The SNCTA - majority union of air traffic controllers - calls on employees to mobilize in France and overseas to demand an increase in wages and staff.
The organization is concerned “
about the current level of inflation as well as future recruitments
”.
After this announcement, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) asked airlines to reduce their flight schedule by 50%.
"
Significant flight cancellations and delays are to be expected throughout the territory
," said the DGAC.
On the airline side, Air France will operate 90% of its long-haul flights and 45% of its short and medium-haul flights.
“
Last minute delays and cancellations cannot be ruled out
,” warns the group.
Like the DGAC, Air France “
strongly recommends postponing your trip
”.
Same announcement for Transavia, the low-cost subsidiary of Air France-KLM, which “
reduces its flight program by 50% this Friday
”.
This will concern “
all French airports
”, in particular on departure from and arrival at Orly.
A list is available on the Transavia website with all the flights concerned.
Passengers “
will be offered free deferral solutions or a full refund
“, adds the company.

EasyJet is also “
proactively canceling nearly 50% of its flight program in France
”.
The company advises customers to "
check their flight status on the
Flight Tracker
from the mobile app or website
" to see if a flight is impacted by the strike.
Volotea reports that “
some flights will be affected
” and others “
may experience delays
”.
A list of canceled journeys is also present on the site.
In the event of a flight cancellation, Volotea recommends that its customers “
not go to the airport and request a change or refund of their reservation
”.
All the airlines also indicate that the passengers affected by the cancellations have been contacted by SMS and e-mail.
They thus have the possibility of changing their flight free of charge or of being reimbursed.
This Friday is only the first day of the strike because the SNCTA has already announced the filing
of “a second notice from Wednesday September 28 to Friday September 30 inclusive
”.
