Inside the Balenciaga archives

Balenciaga exhibits its archive pieces during European Heritage Days, September 17 and 18, 2022. Balenciaga
On September 17 and 18, 2022, heritage is in the spotlight.
In Paris, the headquarters of the luxury group Kering opens its doors during this new edition of Heritage Days, which has taken up residence after major renovations in the former Laënnec hospital.
The group shares its premises with one of its brands: Balenciaga.
The open doors are an opportunity to unveil the archives of the brand founded in 1919 by Cristóbal Balenciaga, and more particularly those destined never to be exposed, because they contain “defects”.
Disjointed dresses, models deteriorated or marked by time... Now these clothes find the light of day having come out of the shadows after decades - for some - kept in the dark, in drawers.
On the spot,
several craftsmen make themselves available to detail this conservation and renovation work.
A moment that offers a journey through time and behind the scenes of the man nicknamed the “master of couture”.
40, rue de Sèvres, visits on September 17 & 18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (last entry at 6 p.m.), and at night on Saturday 17 until 10 p.m. (last entry at 9 p.m.).

X Wrangler glove, capsule collection.
Glove
Jeans, shirts, buckled belts... None of the pieces from the American clothing repertoire are missing.
And for good reason, two American fashion entities founded in the 1940s are uniting this season around a capsule collection.
Wrangler, the jeans brand linked to the rodeo joins the time of a mini-line to Gant, the manufacturer of shirts for New York high society.
Preppy references meet the ruggedness of the garments worn by horse breeders in North Carolina, where the Wrangler label originated.
A collaboration that draws on their respective archives, for a 100% made in America wardrobe.

Nathalie Blanc and Nicolas Ouchenir, in a collaboration Nathalie Blanc
Neither the fetish calligrapher of fashion, nor the Parisian eyewear maker are at their first attempt when it comes to collaborations.
However, this is the first time that the two have joined in a partnership, born when they met on the Basque Coast in 2021. A year of work later, the glasses are born: a pair available in three colors and 144 copies, each of them to be engraved with unique messages on their temples, designed by Nicolas Ouchenir.
And for the lucky ones, a few blank pairs are still available, to affix a personal message signed Nathalie Blanc x Nicolas Ouchenir.

Supreme polish
Attention, fashion manicure in sight.
After having already imagined a lipstick together in 2020, Pat MacGrath Labs and Supreme are renewing their collaboration to launch a trio of varnishes.
Three colors (red, black and white) that can be customized with golden nail stickers bearing the image of the two brands.
A limited edition that should appeal as much to fans of one of the high priestess of make-up (she signs in particular the sublime beautifications of many parades) as those of the skate label.
And as each collaboration associating the name of the latter rhymes with phenomenon and out of stock, it is better not to wait too much.
