Kyrgyzstan reported that at least 24 people were killed in clashes on the border with Tajikistan, in a new outbreak of violence between the two former Soviet republics.
"24 bodies were taken to health facilities in the Batken region" in southeastern Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health said in a statement.
From Samarkand, where they were both, Kyrgyz presidents Sadyr Japarov and Tajik Emomali Rahmon ordered their respective troops a few hours ago to withdraw from the line of contact along the border after the ceasefire reached today.
