250 invited guests celebrated 20 years of the Pinakothek der Moderne at a colorful gala dinner in Munich.

A feast!

Poor Markus Söder.

Was unable to attend, but would have loved to come, Art Minister Markus Blume said on Thursday evening in the Pinakothek der Moderne.

Because you really couldn't think of a better event than this gala dinner for the 20th birthday of the Pinakothek der Moderne.

It's correct.

At least when you're not in the minister's shoes.

Thanks to the humorous comments from art enthusiast Sarah Haugeneder, for example, his joy at the invitation may have been somewhat dampened.

Among other things, she is the promoter of the Various Others initiative, which strengthens the exchange between Munich art and cultural institutions.

Her smug comment towards the flower: "We thank the Ministry of Art for the Like on Instagram.

That is something like ideal support.”

Thomas Girst, head of cultural commitments at the BMW Group, one of the biggest sponsors of the museum with its four collections, is also calling for more state support for art and culture for the birthday celebration.

So that the Pinakothek der Moderne can open up even more in the coming years to those who are not already permanent guests.

"A museum of the future isn't about something, it's for someone!" To ensure that the Minister of Art also takes this seriously, he was elegantly reminded of his opening words by several speakers that evening.

In it he announced that "a little more is possible" in terms of support - but with the caveat that the current crises must first be overcome.

Passionate about art: Claudia Roth, Minister of State for Culture and Media, and Bernhard Maaz, Director General of the Bavarian State Painting Collections.

In view of these less than passionate words, how beneficial Claudia Roth's speech was.

The Minister of State for Culture and Media is believed to be enthusiastic about and convinced of the importance of art and culture.

In her thoughtful and at the same time encouraging speech, she recalls the Ukraine, where during the ongoing war more than 500 cultural institutions - theatres, museums, libraries - are said to have been deliberately destroyed by the Russian side.

"To destroy the cultural identity of Ukraine." That's precisely why art isn't just for good times.

It also carries us through the bad times - and preserves what we must never forget: humanity.

In a good mood: Manuel Prince of Bavaria.
