King Charles III landed today with his queen consort Camilla in Wales, also welcomed there by a crowd of thousands of people.
The sovereign is in Cardiff to share the mourning for the death of Queen Elizabeth, his mother, also in this nation of the Kingdom - to which he is particularly attached, having carried the title as Prince of Wales for many decades - the mourning for the death of Queen Elizabeth, his mother;
to receive the official condolences of the local Parliament;
and to formalize his proclamation as a new monarch.
Meetings with local authorities are planned, including the Welsh first (Labor) minister, Mark Drakeford.
Charles completes with this visit the tour organized after the death of the queen on 8 September and before the funeral on Monday in the three minority nations that together with England make up the United Kingdom: after having already been to Scotland, Edinburgh, and Ireland of the North, in Belfast.
