To get closer all the way to a million: Talia won because she was seemingly the purest character of them all Israel today

2022-09-17T22:19:18.056Z

The last season of "Big Brother" returned to the origins of the format - anonymous participants and fights over cigarettes and washing dishes. • The casting was excellent and introduced narcissistic characters with a short fuse and an increased need for attention. • Season summary

Dressed in a carrot dress, at the end of a grueling and long final, Talia Ovadia emerged from the smoke and confetti as the absolute winner.

"Lots of people love you," her brother told her immediately when she was crowned, "You acted according to your values, and your path touched hundreds of thousands of male and female viewers."

Talia shed a tear.

In retrospect, the grand finale was two and a half hours of pomp and banality that provided few moments to talk about.

Diane pounced on Nathaniel with kisses, Eden Hasson sang for the two finalists, there was an elaborate farewell clip and the results were as predictable as a dramatic mandate poll in the edition.

Maybe it's good that the finale of "Big Brother 2022" didn't jump over the navel, but actually gave the feeling of a dancing heart emoji.

The stormy and brutal season we experienced on the screen for three months was reduced to a few TikTok videos, because the final event was presented to us as a carnival of love and hugs;

One whose purpose was to proudly celebrate the show's consistent victory in the ratings charts.

This season of "Big Brother" was a success story.

They even brought in Yoram Arbel to narrate a summary clip for the tenants, and explain to them the magnitude of the season's success.

This is how Arbel told them: "Mr. Sheaf, thanks to you, serenades are back in fashion. Bar, you have delivered punch lines to an entire country. Sparrow, your sentences are quoted in every household. Talia, an entire country knows your makeup routine by heart."

So it is true that "an entire country" is a wild exaggeration, however there is no arguing that this season of "Big Brother" was a success story.

Why, actually?

Let's try to break it down into factors.

By and large, we have returned to the origins of the format.

Anonymous is better than used celebs, and also stopped bothering us with "important" social conflicts.

Instead of confrontations between right and left or Mizrahim and Ashkenazim, we got heated arguments about cigarettes, washing dishes, chocolate and showers - and that was enough.

The casting struck a chord and brought narcissistic characters into the house with a short fuse and an increased need for attention.

As you can see, this season produced a lot of stars.

I mean, trash heroes whose discourse occupies a significant volume on social networks.

The characters agreed to enter the slot that the production put together for them.

The leading characters agreed to enter the slot that the production put together for them.

Talia and Bar, for example, clashed head to head right to the end (and finished in 1-2 places) after starting the season in a romantic triangle built for them by their brother;

Diane enjoyed being the villain, Eliav played a confused hunk, Sheaf moved between Sherin and Talia, Kazem played a tactless Mookion and so on.

The casting and the construction of the plot made it clear that the production bet this time on a couple season, and in the end three couples did leave the house (and there were several other novels and courtships that collapsed along the way).

A more impressive achievement than Hatunami's average season.

Finished in second place.

Most of the tenants played for the cameras, and some of them knew how to change according to hints they received about the public's opinion of them.

Nathaniel experienced correction since Diane's ouster, Bar calmed down, Seagull pushed for a relationship as if his future in the game depended on it, Talia gave love a chance only when she realized that the people demanded a kiss.

At the time of parting everyone forgave and regretted and hugged.

The main thing is to go out well.

It was Tiktok season with residents who understand the platform and therefore happily drift into scenes of shouting and fighting, which consciously produce sounds to use the app.

But the attitude of the participants of the season flooded a lot of vile evil.

A self-aware evil that aims directly at the camera.

Diane behaved like a monster, Kazem blabbered loudly, and the bar didn't lack either.

Nathaniel was a bully, Dina was warm, Ofek was cruel, and many others cheerfully showed an evil side.

The verbal violence, the disdain, the egoism, the boycotts, the belittling of the other - all the ugly sides of Israeli society were present in those insignificant debates.

What do you mean, "please behave accordingly"?

As expected, Talia Ovadia won by a huge margin because she was apparently the purest character of them all, the one who tried not to get swept up in that general vortex of evil, but made sure to get close all the way to a million.

And these are the rules of the format.
