One day after the accident that killed three people at a biker meeting in northern Brandenburg, the police had their first findings on the cause of the accident.
According to a spokesman, the two motorcycles involved drove towards each other on the concrete runway near Wittstock on Saturday at an unexplained speed.
There was a side contact and the serious accident.
The passenger was also fatally injured
A 46-year-old from Wittstock and a 47-year-old from Haldensleben, Saxony-Anhalt, crashed their machines and died.
A 35-year-old man from Norderstedt in Schleswig-Holstein was a passenger on the 47-year-old's machine.
He was also fatally injured, police said.
The incident happened on Saturday at the disused Alt Daber airfield near Wittstock.
About 50 motorcyclists from several federal states met there.

After that, a decision will be made on how to proceed with the investigation, the police said.
