(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 18 - The Supreme Guide of Iran, AyatollahAli Khamenei, reappeared in public today after a few days hospitalization and news about his "serious" state of health.
This was reported by many international media, including AlJazeera.
Khamenei, 83, appeared dressed in black and with a mask - as he has always done since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic - for a mourning on the occasion of the Arbaeen feast.
The images on Khamenei's website show him as he walks and greets the crowd.
The hospitalization was never formalized but two days ago the New York Times reported that the Iranian leader was "seriously ill" and that he had been operated on for an intestinal blockage.
