(ANSA) - NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 18 - StevenSpielberg's "The Fabelmans" won the 'People's Choice' award at the Toronto International Film Festival, which today concluded its 47th edition.
The latest film by the American director won the Tiff's most important audience award, which is often a barometer of future Oscar nominations.
"This is the most personal film I've ever made, and everyone's warm welcome to Toronto made my first visit to the Tiff so intimate and personal for me and my entire Fabelman family," said the director after the announcement of the win.
'The Fabelmans', co-written with Tony Kushner, marks the first time the Oscar winner has presented a film at the Toronto FilmFestival.
The director's childhood-inspired memoir will be released on November 11 with Universal.
'The Hollywood reporter' notes that another autobiographical film about a director's childhood, Kenneth Branagh's 'Belfast', won the Audience Award in Toronto in 2021. (ANSA).
