But a fisherman from Sydney managed to catch a very special one: a shark with big eyes and teeth.

Now the question is which species it belongs to.

That looks incredible!

A few days ago, an Australian fisherman caught a very special animal.

Trapman Bermagui posts the photo on social media and quickly receives a lot of attention.

.

Now the community is puzzling to which special species the shark belongs.

With its rough skin, pointed nose, large eyes and protruding teeth, it looks very unusual and some users have suggested that this is a "prehistoric species".

But the fisherman disagrees, telling

Newsweek

: "It's a rough-skinned shark, also known as a species of dogfish.

These sharks are common at depths of more than 600 meters.

We usually catch them in winter.” Instead of catching sharks, this diver prefers to cuddle with sharks.

Dean Grubbs, associate research director at

Florida State University

's Coastal and Marine Laboratory, also spoke.

He thinks that the species is a "Centroscymnus owstoni", also called rough-skinned dogfish.

"As part of my deep-sea research, we caught a number of them in the Gulf of Mexico and the Bahamas." Some sea creatures from Australia are just fascinating.

Christopher Lowe, professor and director of the

California State University Long Beach

Shark Laboratory , sees things differently.

He says, "Looks to me like a deep-sea kitefin shark found in the waters off Australia." But it's not always easy to make a guess just from a photo.

Everyone agrees on one thing: “The sea is a mysterious and diverse place.

The deep sea is another planet.”
