(ANSA) - LONDON, SEPTEMBER 19 - Queen Elizabeth II was buried in the chapel of St George, annexed to the castle of Windsor, during a private ceremony attended by King Charles III and the closest members of the British royal family.
The sovereign rests in a small chapel of the church, the King George VI Memorial Chapel, next to the Prince Consort Philip and near her father George VI, her Queen Madree and her sister, Princess Margaret.
According to the media, the inscription "Elizabeth II1926-2022" appears on the marble slab of the tomb.
The private function took place after the solemn state funals held today.
