Roni Mehdev-Levin has been appointed to the position of CEO of Cinematech Jerusalem, as announced today (Monday) by the Executive Committee of Cinematech. The decision was made at the end of a search process that began after the departure of the previous CEO, Dr. Noa Regev, who was appointed CEO of Keren last April Israeli cinema.
Mehdev-Levin has a veteran and experience of decades in cinema, and for the past five years he even managed the Cinematech department within the Jerusalem Cinematech association.
In the past, he managed Cinematech Holon and also served as VP at a cinema distribution company. For the past six months, he served as acting CEO of the association, and during this period he also managed the Jerusalem Film Festival, which took place in the city about two months ago.
The Jerusalem Cinematech association manages not only the current activities of the venue, but also the Israeli film archive, which has been undergoing an extensive digitization process in recent years, as well as the Jerusalem Film Festival.

Mehdev-Levin said: "I thank the board of directors for the trust and my colleagues at Cinematheque and the film industry for the warm welcome. I take up my position at Cinematheque in a time of stability and resilience for the institution, and with confidence in the place of cinema in the cultural landscape, as we witnessed at the festival we held a few weeks ago in front of packed halls. I expect that together we will strengthen the important contribution of the association through its many activities - at the cinematheque, the festival and the archive - to the film culture in Israel."
The chairman of the Cinematheque's executive committee, Daniel Mimran, said: "On behalf of myself and all the members of the executive committee who unanimously supported the appointment, I wish success to the incoming CEO and believe that Roni will continue to march forward the important cinema institution, both for the cinematic landscape and for the social landscape in Israel." .
