Bracken, Gold, Cabernet Sauvignon (Photo: PR)

Barkan, Gold, Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, NIS 39

If a large winery is measured by its ability to produce basic and cheap supermarket wine of good quality, Barkan comes out with "Gold, Cabernet Sauvignon 2020" which is really excellent.

There is literally a lot of wine here for little money.

Full body and many complexities are enough to hold even a meat meal.

The creator, Genesis, Patti Verdo 2020 (Photo: PR)

The creator, Genesis, Petty Verdo 2020, NIS 40

A powerful red, fruity, extrovert, happy and undoubtedly one of the value for money wines that stand out on store shelves this New Year's Eve.

Carmel, Private Collection, Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot (Photo: Eyal Keren)

Carmel, Private Collection, Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2021, NIS 45

Ramel of recent years have upgraded the "Private Collection" series to completely different levels.

This is undoubtedly the best red that NIS 45 can buy.

Well-structured medium body, roundness and softening on the part of the Merlot, good acidity.

Wine that is bought in boxes and kept for the winter.

Binyamina, & Wine Beef 2021 (Photo: Efrat Eshel)

Binyamina, & Wine Beef 2021, NIS 60

A new series of Binyamina wineries in which they produce wines designed for specific foods, priced from the "cheap-medium" category.

The current wine is intended for beef, provides the goods with a degree of fine restraint, will not dominate the portion but will accompany it, and provides a completely worthy value for 60 shekels.

Teperberg, Inspired, Sauvignon Blanc - French Colombard (Photo: Eyal Kern)

Teperberg, Inspired, Sauvignon Blanc - French Colombard 2021, NIS 70

Aromatic, crisp, fresh and extroverted;

This wine is the white representative of the new wine world in tasting.

It is impeccably made and lovers of this type of wine will enjoy it very much alongside ceviche, tartar and other friends from the sea at the holiday table.

over a hundred

Molly, Pat Nut Pink Grapefruit (Photo: Public Relations)

Molly, Pink Grapefruit Pat Nut NIS 79

A spicy pink grapefruit-based drink from the "Moli" boutique liquor house.

Natural fermentation that began in stainless steel tanks and continued in the bottle created a drink that would serve as an aperitif or a wonderful accompaniment to first courses.

There is turbidity, bitterness and a stunning presence of plenty of spices and flowers here.

Less suitable for a full meal, but for sharing between four to six sippers with an experienced and advanced palate who are not afraid of bitterness, it is perfect.

Must be sipped very cold or on ice.

Tabor, Eko, Adom (Photo: Michal Sudai)

Tabor, Eco, Adom 2016, NIS 89

Tabor's "Eco" series is a great happiness.

Unlike most of the winery's products, its wines are found in wine shops, unlike supermarkets, and include white, rosé and red.

The current red that Tabor has released is based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sica and Cabernet Franc and has accumulated several years of aging.

It is an equally excellent wine that is evident in its restraint, balance and gastronomic factor.

Looking for a red with an excess of 100?

Here is one of the better buys on the shelves right now.

Recanati, Upper Galilee, Lebanon Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard (Photo: Omri Miron)

Recanati, Upper Galilee, Lebanon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, NIS 95

Cabernet Sauvignon, a particularly high-quality variety, which preserves both the characteristics of the variety and the characteristics of the terroir - in front of the mountains of Lebanon.

Well-built body, not too muscular, lovely fruit, not too busy, excellent acidity, cleanliness and restraint.

Will also successfully accompany really high quality meats.

Really excellent value for money.

Kishor, and June 2021 (Photo: PR)

Kishor, and June 2021 NIS 95

Acidic, aromatic, mineral, with the presence of yellow fruit, a tropical touch and a degree of oiliness.

The beauty of Viognier from the beauty of a winery.

One of the best local bricks at mid-range prices.

up to 130

Dalton, Grounded, Zuriman 2021 (Photo: Public Relations)

Dalton, Grounded, Zuriman 2021, NIS 110

Red Yoo from the ancient black Tsuriman variety, from the north of Israel. Aged for 8 months in amphoras (like pottery), like in ancient times. Spicy, herbaceous, aromatic and quite funky. Suitable for smoked meats and hard cheeses. A really excellent wine, for those who understand. It would be good if in Dalton Winery They will continue to give Leinan Guy Eshel a free hand for more original ventures.

Barbados, Shiraz 2020 (Photo: Public Relations)

Barbados, Shiraz 2020 NIS 119

In Barbados, the "Professors Winery", they make excellent "new world" wines of their kind.

Such is also the current wine, which has power, extroversion, great alcoholism and is made without any technical fault.

One, Roussanne-Vionier 2021 (Photo: Public Relations)

One, Roussanne-Vionier 2021, NIS 120

"Hat" is the personal and tiny winery of connoisseur Nitzan Seversky.

The current wine, of very high quality, is based on 58% Roussanne and 42% Viognier.

This is an aromatic wine endowed with a nice minerality factor, plenty of nuances and a welcome amount of evoque feeling, a result of the aging on the yeast.

Experienced drinkers, lovers of southern French whites, will be very happy with this wine.

Abuhab, Marka Yala 2020 (Photo: Public Relations)

Abuhab, Marka Yala 2020, 120 shekels

A blend based on Merlot (70%) and Syrah (30%) by Abuhab, the strictly kosher Tzafati boutique winery.

Compressed fruit, very ripe, strength and power, a strong presence for the wood and great intensity.

Not bad value for money at all.

Feldstein, Gilgamesh 2019 (Photo: Public Relations)

Feldstein, Gilgamesh 2019, NIS 120

The gifted and veteran winemaker Avi Feldstein launches a red blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Carignan, Grenache, Crimson and Roussanne.

The name of the wine was given to it as a reference to the Assyrian epic "The Tales of Gilgamesh" and it is full of volume, with tangible Mediterranean elements, a clear presence of greens and excellent acidity.

One of the best reds in the price group.

Pinto, Holot, white 2020 (Photo: PR)

Pinto, Holot, white 2020, NIS 130

Pinto is a new boutique winery located in Yeruham, professionally signed by the winemaker Yaakov Uriah.

"Holot, Laban 2020" is a blend based on Rosanne and a little Chenin Blanc from vineyards in the Negev (Mitzpe Ramon and Ramat HaNegev).

Like the best white wines from high areas in the Negev, the unique terroir gives an unrivaled character.

Like the best Oria wines, it has great depth, minerality and dryness.

An equally excellent dry white food wine.

130 north

Raziel, Rosa 2021 (Photo: Public Relations)

Raziel, Rosa 2021, NIS 139

Castel, the first of the independent wineries in Israel that grew over the years and became industrialized, became known for its excellent Bordeaux blends: Grand Vin and Petit Castel.

The small wine line that the Kastel family opened in the yard of their house in Ramat Raziel is called "Raziel" and its orientation is completely different.

It's almost a garage winery that makes Mediterranean-Southern French style wines.

It costs quite a bit, but its qualities are very worthy.

The fruit is restrained, the dryness is good, there is a fair amount of iboque and the gastronomic factor is excellent.

Yatir, Nahal Yatir 2019 (Photo: Public Relations)

Yatir, Nahal Yatir 2019, NIS 150

75% Syrah and the rest of Malbec from Yatir Forest combine with red which represents Yatir Winery at its best: full, fruity, spicy, rich and very elegant.

On the line of continuity that differentiates the new old wine world is much closer to the latter.

As such, it is excellently made.

Vitkin, Grenache Blanc 2021 (Photo: Public Relations)

Vitkin, Grenache Blanc 2021, NIS 150

White Grenache is one of the more fascinating varieties grown here.

It is also very rare, grown sparingly and this is only the ninth vintage to be produced by Vitkin - the winery that pioneered the Mediterranean revolution in the Israeli wine world.

Citrus and herbaceous nose, mineral palate, really complex and really fascinating.

It is a southern French wine in nature but one intended only for the advanced.

It's worth getting your hands on two bottles and putting one to aging.

A wine that is sipped really cold as usual will only harm its complexity and it is more than recommended to let it breathe for at least an hour before sipping.

Alexander, Reserve, Cabernet Franc (Photo: Public Relations)

Alexander, Reserve, Cabernet Franc 2019, NIS 165

Oval red color, on the nose red fruit and plenty of spices, on the palate concentrated fruit and a lot of load.

Like all Alexander Winery wines, this is a very extroverted wine that is made no less than excellent within the rules of the genre to which it belongs.

Wine-wine.
