He knows his way around premieres.

However, it is usually at film premieres that Brad Pitt is expected to be there.

Now the actor has slipped into a new role: he has unveiled sculptures he created in a museum in Finland.

It is the first time that the US actor is showing his works to the public, said the Sara Hildén Art Museum in Tampere in south-west Finland.

Pitt's sculptures are part of a larger exhibition by British artist Thomas Houseago.

It also features a series of ceramics by Australian musician Nick Cave.

The exhibition has the following title: »Thomas Houseago – WE with Nick Cave and Brad Pitt«.

It can be seen until January 15th.

At Saturday's opening ceremony, Pitt said it was a new world for Cave and himself.

"It just feels right," he told Finnish broadcaster Yle.

The 58-year-old's visit came as a surprise;

his participation was not previously announced.

"In that sense, it's exciting and wonderful," chief curator Saranne Soikkonen told AFP.

Houseago's decision to include his friends Pitt and Cave in his exhibition was influenced by the corona pandemic and "events in Houseago's private life".

Soikkonen did not give any details.

"It's about where I've gone wrong in my relationships"

Pitt is represented in the exhibition with nine artworks (»The Art Newspaper« has described them in more detail here).

Underneath is a plasterboard, which is supposed to represent a gunfight.

Also a series of house-shaped silicone sculptures, each shot with a different type of ammunition.

"For me, it's about self-reflection," Pitt said.

"It's about where I've gone wrong in my relationships, where I've made a mistake." The sculptures are the result of a "radical inventory of the self," said Pitt.

It was about "being really brutally honest with me".

It is also the first time for Nick Cave that he is presenting his ceramic works to the public.

As part of the exhibition you can see 17 hand-painted figures that are supposed to represent the life of the devil in 17 stages.
