After the actor, the sculptor?
The American star Brad Pitt discreetly inaugurated this weekend in Finland the first exhibition showing his sculptures.
"
It's exciting and wonderful
," said Sarianne Soikkonen, curator of the Sara Hildén Art Museum in Tampere, the third largest city in the Nordic country.
For the first time, the now 58-year-old “
largely self-taught
” actor exhibited nine works, in a joint exhibition with renowned British artist Thomas Houseago, but also with another famous debutant, Australian rock star Nick Cave.

Among Brad Pitt's works, a large molded plaster panel representing a shooting or a series of silicone sculptures in the shape of a house, each hit by bullets of a different caliber, lodged in the plastic.
To the great surprise of a Finland unaccustomed to visits from Hollywood stars, the actor made an appearance at the exhibition on Saturday, accompanied by Nick Cave.
“
For Nick and me, it's a new world and a first performance.
It just feels good
, ”the actor said on September 17 on Finnish television Yle, who did not know he would be present.
“
For me, it's about introspection.
It's about where I went wrong in my relationships, where I took a misstep
,"
The exhibition had only been announced as "
the first in the Nordic countries of the sculptor and painter Thomas Houseago
", one of the figures of modern sculpture.
The artist's decision to invite his friends Brad Pitt and Nick Cave was made during the pandemic due
to "events in the personal life of Thomas Houseago
", suggested Sarianne Soikkonen... finally rejoicing in the publicity made around its event.
