(ANSA) - NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 20 - "The international community is not ready or willing to face the great dramatic challenges of our time and these crises, like the war in Ukraine, threaten the future of humanity".
This was stated by the UN secretary general, Antonio Guterres, opening the 77th General Assembly.
"Progress is hostage to political tensions," he added: "Our world is in paralyzed danger, the United Nations Charter and the ideals it represents are in danger. We have a duty to act and yet we are stuck in colossal global dysfunction."
