No holiday table is complete without Tsimas (Photo: Alon Mesika)
Tsimyas, those small, glazed carrots in a sweet sauce, which came from Eastern European cuisine, have long since become a must-have addition to every holiday table, no matter what tribe you are from.
Some add a lot of caramelized onions to the tarnished carrots, others dry fruits and it is always recommended to season them with cinnamon as in this simple and easy recipe by Ins Shilot Yanai.
She makes her tzameis with dwarf carrots, prunes and pecans, which add another bite and fun texture.
A classic addition to the Rosh Hashanah table alongside the meat, rice and potatoes.
In short, you can't give it up even during the New Year's holiday.
