Then it's high time for a sweet and juicy pumpkin pie on the autumn menu.

Every season has its special seasonal treats: pumpkins belong to the fall season like cookies to Christmas and asparagus to spring.

But if you've only ever made savory dishes from the orange vegetable, like stuffed pumpkin or pumpkin soup, you've missed a succulent treat -- pumpkin pie.

The vegetables also cut a good figure baked sweetly.

This cake recipe may well become your fall favorite.

Be sure to serve it to family and friends on the coffee table: you will see, they will be delighted.

And the preparation of the pumpkin pie is not complicated at all.

It is best to bake it in a Gugelhupf or ring shape, so it also looks good.

Juicy pumpkin pie recipe: the ingredients

  • 2 grapefruits

  • 125 grams of pumpkin

  • 4 eggs

  • 250 grams of sugar

  • 200ml oil

  • 300 grams of flour

  • 100 g ground hazelnuts

  • 1 packet of baking powder

  • butter for the mold

Bake pumpkin pie: This is how the autumn favorite succeeds

  • First, squeeze the grapefruits - see our tips for squeezing citrus fruits.

    You need 200 milliliters for the dough.

  • Peel and finely grate the pumpkin.

    Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat or 180°C fan and grease the baking tin with butter.

  • In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until creamy.

    While stirring, first add the oil, then the grapefruit juice and the grated pumpkin.

    In another bowl, mix together the flour, hazelnuts, and baking powder, then fold the dry ingredients into the batter as well.

  • Pour the batter into the greased tin and bake in the hot oven, on the bottom shelf, for 45-50 minutes.

    Do the chopstick test towards the end of the baking time.

  • Take the pumpkin pie out of the oven and let it cool.

  • If you like, you can melt chocolate as a icing and spread it over the finished cake.

    To serve, cut the pumpkin pie into pieces: it makes about 20 pieces.
