Italian fruit and vegetables arrives at Cibus: starting with Cibus Connecting Italy, in Parma in March 2023, all upcoming editions will have a large exhibition section dedicated to fresh fruit and vegetables.

The news was announced today at a press conference held in Salerno at the Chamber of Commerce.

It will be an area where exclusively Made in Italy fruit and vegetable producers will be brought together, in the context of an internationalization format of Italian fresh products that allows the operators present to have a place where they can meet and dialogue with international distribution, make presentations and tastings and deepen.

The new section of Cibus will be organized by Fiere di Parma, in collaboration with the Edamus Italian Fruit Village Consortium.

The initiative stems from the desire of companies in the sector to be protagonists in major international agri-food fairs and to increasingly promote the export of fruit and vegetables.

"The sector has long felt the need to have its own recognizable space among the excellences of Italian food and beverage, of which it is often becoming an enabling factor, as demonstrated by the PDO / PGI and supply chain products - said Antonio Cellie, CEO of Fiere di Parma -. At Cibus Italian fruit and vegetable producers will be able to interact with national and international distribution and industry in a highly qualified and qualifying context such as Cibus, giving a signal of maturity and awareness of their role in Made in Italy Food ".

"The Italian Fruit Village has been promoting Italian fresh produce in important international events for years - added Emilio Ferrara, president of the Edamus Consortium -.

The agreement reached with Fiere di Parma marks an important turning point in Italy. A choice. which rewards our efforts in favor of a sector that wants to be the protagonist of international food fairs dedicated to food made in Italy and not relegated to local sector fairs. We are also proud that the presentation of this novelty was made in Salerno, a further sign of inclusiveness and openness by Cibus which recognizes the important role played in the agri-food sector in Southern Italy ".

For Massimo Giansanti, president of Confagricoltura, "the development of the sector also involves an adequate presence at trade fairs. The Italian agricultural system is a fundamental component of our country's food supply and, as such, must be among the protagonists of the main events dedicated to food made in Italy. For this reason we consider the decision of Fiere di Parma, in collaboration with the Italian Fruit Village, to dedicate a section of Cibus to fresh products to be strategic ".
