Gil Ofarim is due to appear in court beginning October 24 on false accusations and defamation.
According to the Leipzig district court, the corresponding charge by the public prosecutor's office remained unchanged and scheduled a main hearing.
Ofarim made allegations of anti-Semitism against a Leipzig hotel last October.
In a clip on Instagram, he claimed that a hotel employee had attacked him anti-Semitically because of a necklace with a Star of David.
According to the public prosecutor's office, the incident did not happen that way.
Ofarim is accused of having committed a criminal offense "by allegedly falsely claiming, both in the context of a video and to the police, that an employee of a hotel in Leipzig asked him to 'put away his star' so that he could check in can, "says the statement from the regional court.
It also pointed out that in the event of a conviction, the offense of defamation could also be fulfilled.
Ofarim had publicly defended his version many times.
In August, however, his lawyer announced that Ofarim would not comment on the allegations against him.
