A lawsuit still ongoing
In early July, the trial between the 59-year-old actor and the 36-year-old actress opened the summer saga that
Madame Figaro
devoted to scandalous divorces.
The lawsuit was initiated by the American actor who accused his wife of defamation for an article written in the
Washington Post
in 2018, in which she explained that she had been the victim of "domestic violence".
After many twists and turns, the verdict rendered on June 1 sentenced Amber Heard to pay fifteen million dollars in damages to Johnny Depp.
The latter, also found guilty, had to pay two million dollars.
Amber Heard, “devastated”, decided to appeal, after which Johnny Depp quickly engaged and made the same move.
