18th edition, 8/10 throughout Italy with Amaci. Then abroad (ANSA)

ROME - From Metropolitan Art at Castello di Rivoli (TO) to the works of Maurizio Elettrico, halfway between theatrical pieces and science fiction films, at the Donnaregina in Naples.

And then the homage to Venice of its Civic Museums with the works of Laura Omacini or What a Wonderful World, the new technological, experimental and interactive exhibition of the Art Collection of the Maxxi in Rome.

Up to the Museo del Novecento in Milan or the Musma in Matera.

Not just museums, though.

Also foundations, studios, galleries, artist spaces.

In addition to the whole network of small private realities that will spontaneously enrich the calendar of exhibitions, installations, events, guided tours, workshops and meetings until the end.

All with free admission.

The Contemporary Day, the great event promoted by Amaci - Association of the Museums of

Italian Contemporary Art, turns 18 and returns on 8 October with an edition that looks to the future of the planet and runs on the common thread of themes such as ecology, sustainability and emission reduction.

"Global emergencies that young people from all over the world shout at us in a loud voice during the Fridays for future - explains the president of Amaci, Lorenzo Balbi - And that also confront the contemporary art system with the need to rethink".

It is not by chance, therefore, the image chosen this year for the event: Icarus, the last piece of an articulated project created by the artist Giorgio Andreotta Calò starting from 2019, which in the dim light portrays a moth, whose wings hide its face of a boy.

Created with the support of the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture and the collaboration of the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Contemporary Day is back in a hybrid format, both in presence and online , continues Balbi, also "to tell the reborn vitality of contemporary art in our country after two years of pandemic and to bring out the widespread and widespread network of places that promote it" (you can still register until October 7 on https: //giornatadelcontemporaneo.amaci.org/it).

"An opportunity also to radiate energy and create new collaborations and relationships throughout the territory", reflects the Director General of Contemporary Creativity of the Mic, Onofrio Cutaia,

also recalling the "two calls ready to go to the Ministry with the funds of the PNRR dedicated to digital operations" and "to support the supply chain with the objective of zero emissions in the artistic field".

"And there are many artists in Italy, as well as abroad who focus on protecting the environment, managing resources and reducing emissions", adds Ambassador Terracciano, recalling how from 8 to 14 October the Contemporary Day will fly even outside the borders thanks to the network of Italian embassies, consulates and cultural institutes around the world.

Among the many appointments on the calendar, there is also an ad hoc program of the Amaci associated museums, with a focus on activities dedicated to the public of 18 year olds.
