But the big story is severe anemia in the area of contestants - the trio of girls who reached the finals would not have passed the auditions stage in the seasons in which Shiri Veninet competed.
It was not for nothing that the franchise had to dig us about the "crazy" success of last season's winner Tamir Greenberg.
In order to watch the finale of "The Star", I had to stop the excellent docu about Shlomo Artzi and find out how Greenberg, a talented singer who has yet to put a single song into homes in Israel, is already being marketed as a star these days.
Such a final raises some obvious questions: isn't it time to disconnect the "next star" and similar from the amplifier?
Can the basic format invent a new cover for itself?
And if Judge Assaf Amdorski always knows so well what will succeed now, why isn't he succeeding now?
