(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 22 - Goodbye to negative rates also in Switzerland, after eight years.
The central bank decided a maxi-increase of 0.75 points (lower than some forecasts, however, they bet on 100 points) bringing the rate to 0.5%.
According to President Thomas Jordan, further increases in the coming months are not excluded.
The move by the SNB is in line with the general rate hike around the world led by the Federal Reserve with the ECB accelerating the hikes, leaving the Bank of Japan with negative rates.
