You don't necessarily have to use the oven or toaster to bake rolls.

It can go faster in a pan on the stove.

Kassel – Fresh rolls are simply part of a delicious breakfast.

If you're in a hurry or don't want to leave the house before breakfast, pre-baked rolls from the supermarket or rolls from the day before are a good alternative.

However, in order for them to taste fresh, they have to be baked.

Most people use the oven or toaster to freshly bake rolls.

However, it takes a long time for the oven to heat up and power consumption increases.

In view of the current energy crisis and rising electricity prices, alternatives should be used.

The toaster with its special bun rack is another option for freshly baking buns.

On the toaster rack, however, the rolls can burn in places very quickly.

According to the Ökotest, anyone who wants to save time and electricity can also use a pan.

Baked rolls in the pan: This is how the rolls on the stove succeed

With a quick trick, rolls can also be baked in the pan.

To do this, simply heat a coated pan on the stove at medium level.

Important: A suitable lid is required for the pan!

While the pan is getting hot, the buns should be moistened all over with water.

When the pan is hot, the buns are placed in the pan, the pan is closed with the appropriate lid and the stove is switched off after a minute or two.

According to Ökotest, the rolls can then be turned in the pan.

Since the buns have been moistened with water, steam forms under the lid, which makes them crisp, but should not dry them out.

Depending on the size of the pan, several rolls can be baked at the same time – quickly and with little energy.

And if the rolls are not crispy, these tips reveal how limp rolls can be made crispy again.

According to the Ökotest, however, the oven is the better choice in terms of energy for larger quantities of rolls.
