Lidl parking lot: Woman gets a 30-euro ticket because the car was a little too far over the line

It is a nasty surprise for a woman in Offenbach when she finds a ticket on her car after shopping at Lidl.
She made a mistake while parking.
Obertshausen/Offenbach – Car parks managed by Park & Control are known to be closely monitored to ensure that all rules are followed.
This also happened in the Lidl car park at Bieberer Straße 225 in Offenbach.
There, as op-online.de reports, the reader Anneliese Kurtz from Obertshausen was amazed when she returned to the car on a Thursday after shopping.
Kurtz leaves the Lidl supermarket around 12 noon and notices a strange yellow note on the windshield of her car from afar.
Curious, she approaches the piece of paper waving in the wind and discovers that it is a parking ticket from Park & Control.
"I thought I didn't see correctly, it must be a joke," Anneliese Kurtz was initially completely perplexed, because she was not aware of any guilt.

On closer inspection, it becomes clear that she is accused of parking wrongly and is asked to pay 30 euros.
The left side of your car was a little over the parking marking and thus a little way into the neighboring parking lot.
"I looked straight at my parking disc to see if I had set it incorrectly.
But the time was right and I hadn't exceeded the time limit either.
I was just slightly above the park line so I could get out better," the reader reported.
Because the car next to her was parked so close to the parking boundary that she would not have been able to get out otherwise.
Seeking help, Anneliese Kurtz first turned to the store manager, who accompanied her to her car, looked at the situation and then advised her to contact Park & Control, as this company was responsible for monitoring the parking lot.
His hands are tied.

Since the woman from Obertshausen is not very familiar with such situations and the company can only be reached via the website using the contact form, she contacted our editorial team.
We confronted Park & Control about the case.
The following explanation was ready there: “In these parking spaces, sensors in the middle of the parking space monitor the parking time.
If the vehicle is not within the boundary, the parking time cannot be recorded.”

If a line is crossed, the system evaluates the situation as an attempt to cheat on the parking time and issues a ticket.
In the present case, Park & Control reacted with understanding: "Our primary goal is always to offer our customers stress-free parking under fair and transparent conditions.
We will therefore cancel the ticket.”
The 67-year-old is grateful that the matter has been resolved and that she will not have to pay her fine.
In the future, she will pay close attention to how she parks her car in parking lots.
