Microsoft updates Windows 11 with a focus on sustainability

Microsoft has just released the free update to Windows 11 2022. One year after the presentation of the new operating system, the Redmond giant has released the "major update" of Windows 11, with a focus on sustainability.

The operating system, in fact, once loaded on the computer, will install future updates, large or small, only at certain times of the day, to reduce users' CO2 consumption.

But that's not all: the company has made some changes to the default setting for sleep and screen off, to help reduce carbon emissions when PCs are inactive.

Another important issue is that of accessibility.

Among the innovations introduced are the captions in real time at the system level, able to automatically generate captions from any form of audio content on Windows 11. The voice access (in preview) allows instead to control the computer and write texts using just the voice.

Finally, natural voices for the narrator, which can simulate the real timbre of people, to recreate a more pleasant sound for reading or browsing the web.

Microsoft has also introduced the Smart App Control feature, which ensures intelligent control of apps to download applications safely.

For remote workers, the new Windows Studio Camera and audio effects helps the user to achieve maximum performance during meetings, thanks to Artificial Intelligence, with the ability to filter background noise through voice focus.

Windows 11 2022 Update also features new tools to help people express themselves and their ideas: Clipchamp Editor makes video editing easier, with templates, effects and more.

Gaming updates too.

Thanks to the presence of Game Pass integrated into Windows 11 through the Xbox app, players will be able to access hundreds of high-quality PC games.
