The artistic director of the Italian jeans brand has chosen to mark the occasion with a monumental presentation this September 21 at Milan Fashion Week.

At Diesel, Glenn Martens thinks big, very big.

The Belgian artistic director, thinking head of Y/Project and artistic director of the Italian brand of Renzo Rosso, lifted the veil on his spring-summer 2023 collection during an XXL performance at Milan Fashion Week, this Wednesday, September 21 .

In total, nearly 5,000 spectators traveled to the Milanese Allianz Cloud Arena stadium to watch the presentation.

Among them, the regulars of this kind of event, journalists and other muses, received a sex toy, an anal plug, as an invitation, a prelude to a daring spectacle.

And who wanted to be "democratic".

Democracy according to Diesel

To attend this performance called "The Diesel Democracy" were also invited more than 1,500 students from fashion schools in the city.

Offered to the public on simple registration, the rest of the places were sold out in two minutes, when they were put online on September 1st.

Dizzying figures which are accompanied by a world record.

As a setting, Glenn Martens entrusted the Dennis Vanderbroeck studio with the creation of the largest inflatable sculpture ever made, certified by Guinness World Records.

It is there, between the intertwined bodies of this giant sculpture, that the silhouettes of the collection are revealed.

The denim of tomorrow

Dyed, aged canvas, mixed with tulle, burnt-out, solarized... Designer Glenn Martens is continuing his experiments with denim this season.

Silhouettes composed of microskirts, textured jeans and oversized jackets push the limits of cool.

At the head of Diesel since 2021, the artistic director with a subversive touch has raised the brand of the flagship jeans of the 2000s to the rank of a label in sight.

Particularly in the eyes of Generation Z and Millennials who are snapping up their 1DR bag.

70% of the seats in the parade would have been taken by 18-25 year olds.

A new youth for Diesel.
