The gup of Prato Francesca Scarlatti today excluded from the constitution of the civil action at the preliminary hearing for the death of
Luana D'Orazio, the 22-year-old worker who died in an accident at work
in a company in Montemurlo on May 3, 2021, the natural father of the girl's 6-year-old son.
The judge instead admitted Luana's mother, Emma Marrazzo, Femca, the textile section of the CISL union, and Inail as a civil party.
The next hearing is set for October 27th.
The judge declared "inadmissible" the request of the child's father, a young man from Calabria whose relations with Luana had been interrupted for a long time.
Scarlatti motivated the choice with the ruling of
the juvenile court of Florence which temporarily granted custody of the child to his maternal grandparents
.
The main defendants in the trial are the spouses Luana Coppini and Daniele Faggi, respectively legal and de facto owners of the textile company in which the fatal accident occurred.
Through their lawyers, the spouses are in dialogue with the prosecution to try to negotiate the sentence in relation to the crimes of manslaughter and removal of accident prevention precautions.
The third accused, the external maintenance technician of the Mario Cusimano company, accused of the same crimes, is not willing to ask for alternative rites.
