The cover alone shows how stormy and wild this thriller is.
The author did an extremely good job of using nature as a suspense factor in “The Tempest”.
Twelve years ago, a storm changed Kiernan's life from one day to the next: a girl disappeared into the sea without a trace, his brother died through his fault.
Now, returning to his hometown on the Australian island of Tasmania, he still feels the guilt.
But now he has a child with his girlfriend Mia and believes he can put the past behind him.
Shortly after his return, however, a dead woman is found on the beach - and suddenly old wounds reopen.
Kiernan soon realizes that this murder has something to do with him - and with everything that happened during the storm twelve years ago that never really came to light.

Jane Harper "The Tempest": My Conclusion
I especially liked the development of the characters.
The fact that the story slowly picks up speed and then reveals its secret bit by bit made for additional reading pleasure.
In my opinion, the thriller "The Storm" conveyed the message well, that you don't have to flee your past, you have to face it.
A must for all thriller and crime thriller lovers.
