Another day, another new record that Harry Styles smashes:
the British pop star already has many records, since "As It Was", the huge hit from his latest album "Harry's House", has so far spent 14 weeks (non-consecutive) at number one on the Billboard chart. The American - an achievement that places him as the fourth song in history in terms of staying at the top of the chart (and one that has kept the first place longer than any other single in the current decade), but also as a song that has occupied this position and has been in the chart in general for the most number of weeks ever.
The only songs in the history of "Billboard" that starred at the top of the chart for a longer time are "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boyz Two Men and "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee with Justin Bieber (both stayed at the top of the chart for 16 weeks), and Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" featuring Billy Ray Cyrus tops the charts with 19 weeks at the top.
"As It Was" isn't the only song to top the chart for 14 weeks, with the others being Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk," the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling," Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" and "Candle in the Wind" by Elton John.
And it doesn't end there: Styles' hit has now also become the only song in history to spend 24 weeks in one of the top three spots on the same chorus chart.
Currently, "As It Was" shows signs of entering the circle of the 100 greatest hits of all time in the US. The album itself is also receiving praise and appreciation, and even received a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize as album of the year.

The 28-year-old singer says in interviews that he is already collecting material for his next album.
"I write all the time," he said recently.
"I think we're all very excited to go back to recording, which feels crazy because we released an album not long ago."
These days Styles is on tour in the USA, when last night (Wednesday) he finished a residency (permanent stay) of performances at the legendary Madison Square Garden hall in New York.
