Currently there is another recall of chips.

It's one of many this year.

Anyone who likes to eat chips should therefore continue to be careful.

Kassel – Chips are one of the most popular snacks in Germany.

In many living rooms, they are an integral part of a cozy evening in front of the television.

This year, however, there have already been several recalls, and 20 types of nacho chips were recently affected by a recall.

The current recall concerns the variety "The Organic Crave - Protein Chips Cheese".

According to the

Federal Office

, the chips are contaminated with salmonella.

The consumption of the product is therefore strongly discouraged.

The Danish provider is not yet well established in Germany.

Recall: Chips are contaminated with bacteria

The salmonella found in the chips can trigger various symptoms, such as abdominal pain and vomiting.

According to the Federal Center for Health Education

, the symptoms are

typical of a foodborne infection.

In Germany, too, food infections are not uncommon and occur again and again.

The following symptoms

are named as typical for a salmonella infection:

  • stomach pain

  • Diarrhea

  • Vomit

  • General malaise

  • headaches

  • Fever

New chips recall: Salmonella found - Federal Office warns

Salmonella quickly settles on unrefrigerated food.

Animal foods such as eggs and raw meat are particularly affected.

But Salmonella can also be found on plant-based foods, as is currently the case in crisps.

This can be caused by a lack of hygiene during processing.

An example of this is unclean surfaces during processing, the Federal Center for Health Education

further

informs .

The incubation period for a salmonella infection after eating the contaminated chips lasts around 48 to 72 hours, informs

produktwarnung.eu.

Only recently was there a muesli recall due to goods contaminated with salmonella.

Recall started: Chips contaminated with salmonella also cause severe complaints

The symptoms of a salmonella infection, which can be triggered by the affected chips, often last for several days.

However, they usually go away on their own.

In some cases, however, the disease progresses more severely, for example sepsis (blood poisoning) can occur.

This in turn can cause a high fever and chills and is a medical emergency that requires urgent medical attention, the

Federal Center for Health Education informs.

Children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, for example due to chronic diseases, are at greatest risk of severe infection.

So far, no information has been provided about the return of the affected chips, informs produktwarnung.eu and therefore recommends visiting the respective point of sale or destroying the chips.
