After a summer marked by the consequences of global warming, the climate movement is back on the streets.
The Fridays for Future movement, launched by the young Greta Thunberg, calls on all young people around the world this Friday to "gather in front of the town halls of our cities at 11:30 a.m. to carry the emergency message of our generation on the climate and the demand for the integration of climate issues into all training”.
Other gatherings are planned at 2 p.m. in several large cities, such as Lyon or Paris.

The last major mobilization last March brought together thousands of demonstrators across the country.
The objective: to challenge the government to "listen to the voices of those most affected (by climate change) and immediately begin its work to provide compensation and funding to the communities most affected by the climate crisis".
A hashtag #PeopleNotProfit (
People, not profit
), initiated by the movement is also circulating on social networks.
France is not meeting its targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, insists the latest Climate-Energy Observatory unveiled on Thursday.
The country is aiming for zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, that is to say that by this horizon residual emissions must be offset by absorptions by carbon sinks.
A rebound in emissions in 2021
The year 2021 resulted in a rebound in gross emissions (without taking into account absorption) of greenhouse gases, with the partial resumption of economic activity.
But France nevertheless respects the trajectory it has set for this raw indicator, notes the observatory.

On the other hand, for net emissions (including absorption by forests and soils), "the indicative annual share of the carbon budget is exceeded by 20.4 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent, taking into account the degradation for several years of the forest well", notes the observatory.
