The payment service provider PayPal will soon discontinue a popular service.
The company confirms that the return option is no longer available.
Kassel – Paypal is one of the most used service providers when it comes to paying on the Internet.
With Paypal, users can easily and securely make cashless payments, receive payments and also send money.
In addition, consumers can also benefit from buyer and seller protection.
Now, however, there is bad news for PayPal users.
So far, the payment service provider has accepted free returns for products that were paid for via Paypal.
This option was possible for customers up to 12 times a year and up to an amount of 25 euros each time.
If an online shop does not offer free returns, it was previously possible to get a refund from Paypal.
But this service is now discontinued.
There is no return service with Paypal: From this date, the popular option will no longer be available
As of November 27, 2022, PayPal will no longer offer shipping labels for free returns.
Requests for reimbursement of return costs will also no longer be accepted.
“Paypal customers have until November 26, 2022 11:59 p.m. local time to apply for free returns.
From the next day, November 27th, the service will be discontinued,” the company confirmed when asked by hna.de.
Many online shops such as Amazon, Media Markt or Saturn allow free returns.

Paypal abolishes return service: reasons unclear
The reasons for the sudden abolition of the popular service are not yet clear.
The payment service provider has the following to say on this: “Paypal continuously evaluates the experiences of our customers to ensure that we offer products and solutions that best serve our more than 429 million PayPal customers.
We have decided to discontinue the Free Returns offer to focus more on products and features that enable our customers to shop, pay later and manage their finances.” Last year, the payment service provider already had PayPal raised its fees for some transactions.
The security of the payment service provider was recently put to the test because scammers took advantage of PayPal's popularity.
