(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 24 - Hungary intends to continue granting its Schengen visas to Russian citizens, although visa facilitation has been suspended in the European Union as a result of the war in Ukraine: this was stated by the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, in an interview with the Russian agency Tass granted in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
"There is a clear methodology on how to issue visas for tourists from countries for which there is no facilitation agreement," the Hungarian minister said, adding: "But even if there is no visa facilitation agreement, it does not mean that visas are not granted ".
According to Szijjarto, "visa policy is a Schengen policy, so as Schengen members there are procedures on how to do it. No decision has been made to stop granting Schengen visas to Russian citizens," concluded the head of diplomacy of Budapest in an interview with Tax
(HANDLE).
