(ANSA) - TOKYO, 24 SEPT - Typhoon Talas has approached the coast of Japan, with torrential rains and landslides that caused one death and several injuries.
The archipelago had been hit by another cyclone which caused four deaths just a week ago.
A man in his forties died today in Kakegawa, Shizuoka Central Prefecture, when his home was swept away by a landslide, NHK state television and local media reported.
In Hamamatsu, also in Shizuoka prefecture, another Frana caused three minor injuries, according to NHK.
According to the Japanese meteorological agency, the typhoon struck at 6 am local time (11 pm in Italy) in the Pacific Ocean, about 100 kilometers south of Shizuka prefecture.
It was heading north-east, accompanied by gusts of wind up to 90km / h.
