The Days of the Castles become sustainable and last longer

On the weekend of September 24-25, with the renewed patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the highlight of the Days of the castles is celebrated, which this year will last until October 16 (info on www.istitutoitalianocastelli.it).


    From north to south of the peninsula, including the islands, there are many events of the 23rd edition with concerts, lunches, conferences, exhibitions, walks, book presentations, degree theses, guided tours, 3D included which will also be part of the European Heritage Days promoted by the Council of Europe.


    The theme is the sustainability of these architectures and their landscape, based on restoration and accessibility.

This year 62 sites will be opened, some of which never accessible or never exploited and the 'castellan' and cultural itineraries that the members of the Istituto Italiano Castelli, a scientific non-profit founded by Piero Gazzola in 1964, they prepared with commitment to bring scholars and simple enthusiasts closer to this world.

AD Calabria turns on the lights on the Castle of Caccuri (Crotone) with a tour itinerary, a conference and itinerant walks in collaboration with the Caccuri Literary Prize also to the abbey, the Matrice church and the streets of the village both Saturday and Sunday.

In Campania tomorrow the Castle of Pimonte will be on display and in the province of Avellino conversations and guided tours of the Castle of Monteforte Irpino, Torella dei Lombardi and the manor and village of Guardia Sanframondi (1-2 October).
